Showing off your support for your favorite football team is fun and an important part of the whole experience. People dress up in their teams colors and have memorabilia in their houses. They also join their team’s fan clubs. A benefit of joining the fan clubs is that they often have free merchandise and tickets. They also often have things for children so they can be involved in showing their support just as much as the adults.

Fan clubs have many opportunities for fans to meet each other and talk about what events are coming up. They also offer discounted items for members when the fan clubs meet. When the kid’s fan clubs meet they are allowed to bring one parent with them and access into the event is first come first serve.

When you sign up to be a member of a fan club you get, among other things, a membership ID that lets you into the events. It can take a while for your ID to come in so most of the time your receipt can act as an ID until it arrives. Many of the fan clubs also offer free stadium tours.

Fan clubs are an excellent way to show your devotion to your team and to meet other people who share your interests. They offer opportunities to be more involved and to get things like signed photographs. They are also inexpensive to join and are worthwhile of you want to become more involved.

Gold medalists Michael Phelps, Nastia Liukin, Kobe Bryant and 150 other U.S. Olympic team members join the queen of TV, Oprah Winfrey on the Sept. 8 23rd-season premiere of The Oprah Winfrey Show, which will be taped next Wednesday in Chicago’s Millennium Park, the Associated Press reports.

Winfrey’s company, Harpo Productions, calls the episode a combination “welcome-home celebration” and bid for Chicago to host the 2016 Summer Games.

Also on the bill for the special show: beach volleyball gold medal team members Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh; gold medal basketball players Carmelo Anthony, Lisa Leslie and Dwyane Wade; and silver medal swimmer Dara Torres.

For those of you keeping track at home, that makes six gold medals – and six world records – in Beijing. (Phelps also scored six golds and two bronzes four years ago, in Athens.)

“I think if it were all over today, he’d be the greatest Olympian who ever lived,” said U.S. swimming coach Bob Bowman.

About his 200-meter IM swim, Phelps said, “I just wanted to step on it in the first 50 [meters] a little bit and try and get out to an early lead …. I knew in the first half, if I got a big enough lead, I thought I could hang on and that’s all I wanted to do.”

Laszlo Cseh of Hungary placed second to Phelps – for the third time in Beijing. “I tried to do a harder start in the first 100 meters but Michael’s breaststroke is awesome,” Cseh said. “Michael is unbeatable.”

The bronze went to Phelps’s teammate – and friend – Ryan Lochte, who won the gold medal in 200-meter backstroke earlier in the day. (Two races in a single day is a “double” in swimmer parlance.)

“The 200 back and IM is a hard double, if not the hardest,” Phelps said. “Ryan had an incredible swim today and I’m glad to see him get his first gold. I know he’s happy.”

Now Phelps is just two races away from smashing Mark Spitz’s seven-gold mark set in 1972.

Aware of his fans at home, Phelps added at a post-race press conference, “I heard the ratings are the highest ever back home. People are watching the Olympics and swimming. More and more people are getting interested – and hopefully involved.”

His physicians authorized his being in the Olympic trials in Omaha, where he made the team in the 200-meter breaststroke, having finished up second ahead of previous world-record holder (and likely winner) Brendan Hansen.

“Discuss a life-changing experience,” said Shanteau, whose first reaction to his diagnosis was disbelief. “That’s as big as one as you can have, I think. You’re changed for the rest of your life. The few people I’ve talked to who’ve gone through this – and they’re all much, much older than I am – say I’ll know that even more in 10 years.”

He will be closely supervised this month and will give up the Olympics should his cancer seem to be scattering.

“If I didn’t make the team, the decision would have been easy: head home and have the surgery,” Shanteau said. “I made the team, so I had a hard decision. But, by no means am I being stupid about this.”

Paul Pierce is the driver of the Celtics on Game 5. Pierce had 38 points to lead the Celtics. Bryant’s 25 were high for the Lakers, who came periously close to blowing a huge lead for the second straight game.

The Lakers almost lose this game and Lakers fans all over the globe were holding their sits tight because it seems that the game is like the rewind of the Game 4 of the series where Lakers had been outwitted by the Celtics on the final minutes. But luckily the LA Lakers survived the tough and fearful game. And they will faced the Celtics once again on Boston Tuesday night.

Authorities said that they have found the women sitting on the toilet sit and somehow disoriented and told the police that she doesn’t want to leave and that she was OK. She was brought to the hospital after some convincing, of course with the toilet attached to her, which is very, very unusual. The police had pried the toilet bowl using a prybar and the hospital peopel were the ones who pried lose the bowl on the woman’s body.

The question surrounding this unique event is that “Why did her boyfriend waited for 2 years before calling the police?” It’s not known yet if her 36 year old boyfriend would face any charges concerning this situation.

He is 6-foot-4, 215-pounds and was named Alabama’s Mr. Football after catching 143 passes for 2,434 yards and 30 touchdowns over his last two seasons, despite missing all or part of four games with injuries as a senior.

Julio Jones said that he will be more comfortable to play on his own state that’s why he chose Crimson Tide during the National Signing Day.
