The Democrats as well as some Republicans had raised their eyebrows on the spending of Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin. According to a financial disclosure statement Palin had clothing and accessories expenses of more than $150,000 from high-end department stores ever since the Alaska governor was the surprise VP pick by of Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Politico.com documented financial disclosure statements show the retail outlay for Palin and her family since early September included a $75,062.63 expenditure at a Minneapolis Neiman Marcus and shopping trips to Saks Fifth Avenue in St. Louis and New York that resulted in a combined tab of $49,425.74, all paid by the Republican National Committee.

Hair and makeup accounted for another $4,716.49 billed to the RNC in September, with no such costs reported in August. (October expenditures will not be made public until after the Nov. 4 national election.)

McCain and Palin had been running around the US to take desperate measures on getting the presidency from the imminent winner Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. The US media and other international networks had been scrutinizing and criticizing McCain’s campaign due to its violence stirring nature. And now these financial records can be another nail in the coffin for the campaign of the Republican candidates.

Tay Zonday, the star and creator of the YouTube hit “Chocolate Rain” is back and he’s getting into politics too. He has a created a musical message for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama: He supports Obama’s bid for the White House and thinks, if elected, the candidate will usher in better times.

The 26-year-old expresses all of this, of course, with his trademark, clipped, deep voice and a droning synthesized melody. The video was called “Brighter Days,” Zonday’s latest video ups the production value – he’s no longer tethered to those keyboards!

In the clip, he sings: “Brighter days are here / ‘Cuz we declare / that history won’t repeat” while gliding around a park in his Obama ’08 T-shirt.

Watch Zonday’s Brighter Days below:

Tay Zonday is an American Studies graduate student at the University of Minnesota – also broadens his message with a healthy dose of visual symbolism. (Never have black and white spoons been more meaningful … )

A picture of Vice President Dick Cheney’s sunglasses is becoming quite a stir in the news arena because some say there appears to be a naked woman in the reflection of his glasses. The story even provoked Cheney’s spokeswoman to respond saying, “Clearly the picture shows a hand casting a rod.”

Look:

Look closely:

The White House had published a photo of Vice President Dick Cheney ‘fly fishing.’ Only problem, when one looks at his sunglasses one gets the distinct impression that he seems to believe that fly fishing is done with the help of naked women. And some have mistaken the photo as a scandal.

However, this might cause some disappointment to a few because the photo is not a scandal. The photo is not of a naked woman. “The image is of the vice president’s hand on his fly rod.”

President George Bush endorses John McCain as the bearer of the Republican party for presidency this coming election. Though its not yet official, John McCain have clinched the lead on the GOP nomination by getting the requisite 1,191 convention delegates. Bush had made this effort despite his unpopularity on the population in order to gain a lead for the Republicans on the presidency. Since, Obama and Clinton is still trying to win the Democrat slate, McCain will try to solidify his presence in the Republican side.

Bush said on the Rose Garden as he appears with McCain, “”John showed incredible courage, strength of character and perseverance in order to get to this moment and that’s exactly what we need in a president — somebody who can handle the tough decisions, somebody who won’t flinch in the face of danger.”

“It’s not about me,” Bush said. “I’ve done my bit.”

The waiting to be nominated Republican, hopefully wanted the president to be on his side during the campaign as Bush had promised. Well, lots of opinions have been gathered concerning this issue. Some said that it will hurt McCain in the process because Bush had supported him, but some say’s that the endorsement could help him to beat the soon to be Democrat candidate.

Check out this “Yes, We Can Video” by will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas as an endorsement for the black presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Yes We Can Lyrics

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.

Yes we can.

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.

Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.

Yes we can to justice and equality.

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.

Yes we can heal this nation.

Yes we can repair this world.

Yes we can.

We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics…they will only grow louder and more dissonant ……….. We’ve been asked to pause for a reality check. We’ve been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea –
